DKPS Rules

D.K.P.S (Dragon Kill Point System)

The Syndicate uses a DKPS (Dragon Kill Points System) to decide on who gets raid items during scheduled guild raids. This ensures that everyone has an equal (but non-random) chance at getting a drop. The system will reward those who raid more frequently and contribute materials to building our guild city, while at the same time giving a fair chance to casual players. If you do not want to spend DKP on alt character then you may register him as fill-in. Fill-ins will only get loot if there is no raider that needs it. See bellow for more information. You can read about DKP here: dkps wiki.

Earning DKP

You earn DKP by participating in guild raids either as a Raider or a Fill-In (2 points per hour), being early (3 points), and being there from the beginning until the end (2 points). Points are also earned for successfully killing a boss (1 point), and for the epic items dropped by boss and non-boss mobs in the raid (1 point per item). Double points are earned if it is our first time killing the boss. You also have the option of farming materials for our guild city to earn points (1 point per 100 tier 3 resources).

Eligibility to participate on guild raids

a. sign up for DKP on the website via the DKPS Login link in the Main window. Add all of your characters using the profiles provided. Your DKPS Login will also allow you to track your DKP, and will show all of the transactions made on your DKP account, from credits made through participating in raids or through turning in T3 resources, to deductions made for the "purchase" of raid gear with your points. (Note: If you find any errors in your DKP, please contact Claudius, and he will investigate and make adjustments if necessary.)

b. Download and install Ventrilo, a voice chat client, to be able to hear instruction during guild raids. While it is great if you are also able to talk, the minimum requirement is that you be able to hear raid leaders’ instruction. You may download Ventrilo here: http://ventrilo.com/download.php . Setup information on how to connect to our vent server will be provided to you, and we will be happy to help you get it set up if you have difficulties. You will not be able to raid until you have the Ventrilo client up and running.

c. be level 80. For some raids, such as Black Ring Citadel, in addition to being level 80, you must have completed your Level 80 Destiny quest with Kalanthes in Kheshatta, and completed the follow-up quests that you pick up from him once you have killed the Grim Grey God. Characters under Level 80 will be allowed to raid in some Tier 1 raids ONLY if no level 80 members are available to fill a raid.

d. assign all of your characters one of two designations:

Raider (Default) - Characters that you wish to participate in raids with and spend points on to get gear. (Note that all of your characters will be designated as Raiders, and will be charged DKP for item drops, UNLESS you manually designate the character as a Fill-in (see below) by clicking on the 'Make Fill-in' link by your character's name.)

Fill-In - Characters you wish to participate in raids with, but do not prioritize for getting gear. They have a chance of getting gear for free if nobody else needs the item.

Notice: Once you have designated you character status, you will not be permitted to change that character’s designation for 30 days. Special exception can be made in the case of accidently changing a character from raider to fill in. Talk to one of the officers to have the guild leader change it. It must be approved by the guild leader.

e. sign up for an open slot in a given raid. (See below)

Signing up for a guild raid

To sign up for a guild raid, use the raid sign-up links on the DKPS login page. The signups are designed so that people have a chance to participate at least once per dungeon per week. Many raid instances we run twice per week, but you will only be able to sign up as a "main" raider during the first sign-up you click on, and will be designated an "alternate" for the second. Remember that you will not be able to raid the same dungeon more than once per week on the same character, since each character will be locked out of killing the same boss more than once per week. If you wish to participate in a second raid of the same dungeon in a week, you will be required to bring a different character to that raid, and will only be able to sign up for an "alternate" slot for that raid. Priority will be given to those in the main slots, followed by filling in of the required classes with alternates. Note that you will earn extra DKP for showing early and being ready when the raid starts. (See above)

We will start to fill in raids with alternates shortly after the scheduled raid time, so be on time to ensure your spot for the raid. Spots filled will be determined by classes needed and then by order of sign ups (Alt sign up order can be viewed at the bottom of the raid roster). Please have your character(s) parked outside of the designated raid instance before the raid start time. Once your raid spot has been filled by an alternate, you will have lost your reserved spot in the raid, and will be allowed to join the raid only if another spot becomes available once all alternate spots have been filled.

Signups wipe at 12AM PST Every Saturday for the week, allowing you to sign up for raids for the following raid week.

4.

Only the raid leader is permitted to open jeweled cases that drop off mobs or bosses in raid instances. When the group is successful in killing a raid boss (congratulations!); be careful not to open the box. After casualties are resurrected, the raid leader will open the box and will allow the hard-fought items to be displayed for everyone. EVERYONE MUST PASS ON ALL ITEMS, even if it is for your class. Be careful! Players who open jeweled cases, or who need or greed on epic drops will be removed from the raid, and be required to contact a GAME MASTER and get the item TRANSFERRED to the correct person it SHOULD have gone to. If this happens a second time the person will receive a two week raiding SUSPENSION. If it happens a third time appropriate action will be taken.

The raid leader will hold the box open until DKP is checked and loot is decided. Once the loot has been decided, the raid leader will then release the box and allow designated item winner(s) to take their items. Be careful that you loot the proper item from the box, as there may be multiple items in the box. The price of the item will be deducted from your total DKP.

Item prices are:

Tier 1 Item - 150 points (Belts from non-boss mobs are 50 points) Tier 2 Item - 200 points (Shoulders from non-boss mobs are 75 points) Tier 3 Item - 250 points

If you have less than the required points, but still have the highest amount of DKP for your class in the raid, your points will simply be zeroed rather than allowed to go in the negative.

5.

When a class item drops, the raider with the highest DKP for that class may either take the item, or may pass the item to the raider with the next highest DKP for that class, as long as the raider to whom the item is passed wants to accept the item, and on down the line, based on the number of raiders of that class who can use the item who are present in the raid. If the raider(s) to whom the item is passed do(es) not wish to accept the item, then the original winner (with the highest DKP) must accept the item. Whoever takes the item will be charged the full DKP price for the item except in the case where the raider has an epic item in the slot. If the winner already has a T1 piece in that slot, then s/he will be charged for the item at a 50% discount. Raiders may not pass items to fill-ins, nor are they allowed to pass on any item and leave a usable item to rot

Fill-In Looting - If no raiders require the item, either because everyone has it, or cannot upgrade their current item (T1 to T2) then items will pass to Fill-In characters. If there is more than one fill in of the same class that needs the item, it will be decided by a random number. Raid leader will pick a number 1-20 and those that need the item will send a tell with their guess to the raid leader.

General raid etiquette

We want and expect that our raids will be a fun challenge for our raiders. At the same time, a certain level of focus, professionalism, and coordinated teamwork is required to be successful in a raid. Your actions and your conduct during a raid have an impact on the entire team. As such, you are expected to listen carefully to instructions and to follow them to the best of your ability. If you are unable to perform a certain responsibility, or if you do not understand what is expected of you during a raid, please ask questions, or discuss the issue with the raid leader. You are expected to keep Vent clear of off topic chatter and joking around while instructions are given, and during combat, as excessive talking in Vent can make instructions or last minute calls for changes in strategy during combat difficult to hear. Please also limit your AFK time during a raid. Regular breaks will be announced by the raid leader. Outside of those announced breaks, when you sign up for a spot in a raid, it comes with the expectation that you will be present and participating in the raid. While unforeseen circumstances can sometimes arise without warning, taking you away from the game for a brief period of time, excessive down time or missing players can affect our team's ability to function properly, and should be avoided whenever possible. If you must be AFK for any reason outside of scheduled breaks, you are expected to inform the raid leader of your absence, along with an estimate of how long you will be away, in order to give us the opportunity to adjust our groups to account for your absence. You should wait for a response from the raid leader before going AFK, except in the case when an emergency prevents you from doing so. However, it would be inappropriate, for example, to order a pizza during a raid, announce in raid chat that you will be taking your own personal 20 minute break to go pick it up, and then leaving without waiting for a response. Make arrangements to eat beforehand, to have nourishment close at hand during a raid, or wait until after the raid is concluded to eat, as it is unfair for you to impose your unnecessary AFK on 23 other people who are counting on you. Players who abuse any of these policies risk being removed from the raid, and/or having their raid status restricted. While we want you to be a part of our successful team, if you are unable, for whatever reason, to commit to these general expectations, and to devote your full attention to the raid, then please do not sign up for a spot, as nobody is forced to raid. Other members who will be better able to adhere to these expectations will then be able to take a spot.

Changes made to DKP

Changes to the DKP System will be reviewed by the guild members. A post will be made in forums for everyone to vote on. The post will stay active for 3 days. For a change to be implemented 75% of those voting must approve the change.
